St Mary Greenhow Hill
Reputedly the highest church above sea level in England (unless you know better), St Mary’s is used about eight times a year for worship including Easter, Summer Hymns on the Hill, Harvest, Remembrance Sunday and Nativity. The small but faithful congregation of four keep the building in wonderful condition but you can imagine what a struggle they have. There are fund-raising events usually in Pateley but £3000 has to be found each year as their contribution to the Parish Share.
